With the Big Blue Johns Creek location opening this summer, we’ve got someone we’d like to introduce! Meet Paige, the General Manager of the Johns Creek pool. She’s checking the water levels diligently at the new pool and waiting patiently to meet all of the Big Blue Johns Creek families.
While we wait for the doors to open, let’s learn a little bit about Paige.
What is your history with swimming?
I learned to swim when I was 4 years old and have fond memories of my first times in the water. I swam competitively throughout my youth and captained my high school swim team. As an adult, I mostly enjoy swimming when training for or competing in sprint triathlons.
What is your relationship with water?
I've always loved the water and am fortunate to have had a positive learn to swim experience. However, as a child and as an adult, I've never loved jumping into cold water. The 90+ degree water at Big Blue is one of my favorite things about our pools.
What made you want to become a part of Big Blue Swim School?
I have a wellness background and worked with kids and families in both clinical and community settings for nearly 6 years prior to joining Big Blue Swim School. When I first joined Big Blue, I was in a role where I got to learn all about the brand and the history and work alongside our founders. Big Blue's mission, vision & values are what made me want to be a part of a great organization.
What made you want to manage a swim school?
When the opportunity to be involved in opening the Big Blue Johns Creek location, I couldn't pass it up. Getting to combine my love for the water and helping kids build a life skill and achieve their goals is pretty neat.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
I love to cook and play tennis. My 4-month old puppy, Pete, also keeps my fiancé and I very busy (and active!) in our free time.
What is one thing on your bucket list that you hope to actually do in your lifetime?
I hope to one day attend all four of the Grand Slam tennis tournaments - the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. I've marked Wimbledon off this list - just three more to go!
What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?Paige is actually my middle name! My mom and her sister (my aunt) named my cousin and I after one another, but I've always gone by Paige.
Paige and the rest of the staff of Big Blue are so excited to meet the families of Johns Creek this summer. As soon as we have our opening date, we will let you know.
Stay safe and healthy!
