Stephen was one of those kids that did not take to the water like a fish. He remembers having a crippling fear of swimming pools and swimming in general. He was often dragged to his swim lessons kicking and screaming against all of his 6-year-old might. It was not until he found just the right swim instructor to help him overcome his fears that he learned to love the water. After he figured out that swimming was nothing to be afraid of he never looked back. He went on to swim for the Palos Verdes Aquatic Club from ages 10 to 18. He also competed for the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School varsity team for all 4 years of high school, serving as captain his senior year. Currently, Stephen is finishing up his last year at Northwestern University, studying film with an emphasis in cinematography. After graduating, he plans to move back to his home in sunny Los Angeles California with hopes of one day becoming an Oscar-winning cinematographer. He is also very proud of his ability to beat Minesweeper on expert.
