SAMANTHA
Instructor
As a child, Samantha’s parents always referred to her as their water bug, because they could never get her out of the water. She started swimming at the age of 3 and has loved swimming ever since. Samantha graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in psychology and women’s studies. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work. In college, Samantha volunteered as a coach for Girls on the Run, a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop and strengthen self-confidence and healthy living through running. Samantha coached girls ages 8 to 12 in training for their first 5K race. She has also worked with children and youth in the social work and welfare fields as a counselor for wards of the state. Samantha always incorporates her vast experience with kids into her lessons. She has an optimism and positivity that is contagious, allowing those around her to feel at ease, while also making them smile.
