Justine began swimming on her community swim team when she was 11 and continued swimming through high school. In high school she swam on the varsity swim team all four years and was named to the all-conference team four years in a row. She was named team captain her junior and senior years. She went on to graduate from Elmhurst College with a B.A. in Education, with an area of concentration in Art and Art Education. After graduation she began working at a junior high school in Franklin Park, where she taught computers and Language Arts for two years. She also sponsored the stage crew club and computer club and served as a member of the internet safety committee. After taking a break from teaching she became a nanny for two young children, where she shared her love of education, art, and swimming with the kids. She loves animals and has three cats, one of which actually loves water. Her hobbies include playing the drums and piano.
