Ivan, pictured with his niece who he taught how to swim, began swimming when he was 13 years old and continued swimming competitively all through high school. Swimming only whetted his appetite for the pool as he also played water polo all four years of high school. He is currently working toward becoming a high school history teacher and hopefully becoming a swim team and water polo coach. Ivan is also helping his father run Taqueria Aguascalientes, an authentic Mexican restaurant, located in Cicero. We dare you to find Ivan in a bad mood. He has a permanent smile on his face and truly enjoys sharing his love for the water with children of all ages.
